Presenting Bata, arquitectura y memoria at the COAC in Barcelona

July 25, 2025

On July 25, I had the joy of presenting Bata, arquitectura y memoria at the Barcelona headquarters of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia.
It was a truly special evening, surrounded by family, friends, and many of the people who have accompanied me on this journey.

The book explores the history of architecture and urban space in the city of Bata (Equatorial Guinea), intertwining personal memory, collective narratives, and a decolonial perspective on the built environment.

The event was held in collaboration with the Metamba Association, and I was joined by anthropologist Alba Valenciano-Mañé, architect Celia Marín, lawyer Pilar Roku, COAC president Sandra Bestraten, musician Georgina Isern Memba, and writer Makome-Beatriz Eñeso Kola.
