Taking advantage of the 70th anniversary of the film “Les statues meurent aussi,” co-directed by Chris Marker and Alain Resnais in 1953, this exhibition at the Museu Etnològic i de Cultures del Món de Barcelona seeks to update the debate opened by the documentary at the time and to carry out a critical reflection on art, museums, and their influence on culture and society. The film constructs an exploration of museums, colonialism, art, and cultural identity. It delves into the history of so-called African art.
